The UCF Town & Gown Council hosted their annual State of the University Address and the City of Orlando hosted the Focus on Excellence Breakfast these past few weeks. President John C. Hitt discussed the plan for the development of UCF’s Downtown Orlando campus, promising a strong future and economic advantage for Downtown Orlando.

As the second largest university in the nation, UCF has raised its SAT acceptance score to 1398 and accepts students who hold an average GPA of 3.91. UCF has over 1,500 international students enrolled in courses, coming from more than 120 countries from around the world. To accommodate their growth, they have set aside 20 acres for construction in Creative Village and expect nearly 7,000 students to attend classes at the downtown campus.

President Diana LaRue is a member of the Board of Directors of the Town & Gown Council. Appleton Creative had a table at the State of the University Address and also attended the Focus on Excellence Breakfast. Appleton is a proud supporter of UCF’s Town & Gown, managing both their website and communications.

The UCF Town & Gown Council was founded in 1982 for the purpose of developing stronger relationships between the University of Central Florida and the community that it serves. Membership is comprised of representatives from the Central Florida community (Town) and the UCF community (Gown).
