The Bright House stadium was booming with public relations genius last evening, and we were so excited to be a part of it. Appleton Creative took home an award of distinction in the Public Relations Program category with Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando for Paws in the Park 2015. Pet Alliance, our wonderful client that made the event happen, joined us for a night of celebration.
The Paws in the Park public relations program included a variety of strategies. Beyond traditional public relations tactics, Appleton teamed up with Pet Alliance to utilize media outreach, media partnerships, in-kind sponsorships and community calendars. Appleton also co-hosted Yappy Hour, a pet-friendly publicity event, to enlist the support of the community and encourage registrations. The Appleton team created a series of promotional materials that included a print ad, flagpole banners, direct mail, brochure, poster and Yappy Hour evite.
Paws in the Park 2015 brought in approximately 5,000 people and over 900 dogs, raising a record-breaking $253,000. This marked a 75% increase in registrations and an approximate 267% increase in people and dogs in attendance from 2014 to 2015. Paws in the Park 2015 was featured in WKMG Local 6, Wesh 2 News, Orlando Weekly, The Orlando Sentinel and WUCF.
