In true Appleton Creative fashion, we wanted to showcase the creative designs and incredible portfolio of work completed this year by entering the Creativity International Awards. Six of our submitted pieces took home awards, an impressive accomplishment for this highly competitive international competition. The 45th Print & Packaging Design Awards is comprised of seven divisions and 117 categories. The competition is one of the most prestigious and longest-running independent advertising and graphic design contests in the world. Appleton Creative participated in the divisions of print, illustration and publications, and the results were exceptional.
In the print category, Appleton was rewarded for Trinity Preparatory School’s corporate identity manual, a brand book that would help the college preparatory school maintain a consistent brand and further position itself as a premier secondary school in Central Florida. The brand book incorporates multiple families of custom logos created by Appleton for Trinity Prep’s various school departments, social media, school pride and administration.
Appleton took home an award for TBS Factoring Service, one company of a family of businesses leading the nation in the transportation industry. As part of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, TBS enlisted Appleton’s design expertise to produce t-shirts and other materials that reflect the TBS spirit and appeal to truck drivers across the nation.
Environment and team spirit rank among the top 5 most important factors that affect customer experience and work performance. As an Appleton specialty and one of our favorite types of advertising to produce, we created environmental graphics for Central Florida Expressway Authority and the Golf Channel. Both projects were commissioned to make the working spaces an aesthetically pleasing and branded environment for employees as well as visitors, and both were chosen as winners from the Creativity Awards.
Winners in the publications division were the series of magazine advertisements Appleton wrote and designed for John Michael Exquisite Weddings and Catering, a renowned wedding and event planning service in Central Florida.
Ruby June and the Voice of the Sea is a book written, illustrated and produced by Michael Sanborn and Appleton Senior Art Director Dolly Sanborn for their daughter, Ruby June. The cover illustration was painted one week after she was born. After six years and 22 paintings, the book was complete and the Creativity Awards recognized their hard work with yet another award.
