As the ultimate goodwill event in Central Florida, Victory Cup Initiative launched its inaugural breakfast on Thursday, February 4th, kicking off a new wave of philanthropic investing. The concept is simple, and the reward is invaluable: everyone votes and everyone leaves a winner. As title sponsor and partner, Appleton Creative jumped at the chance to serve on Victory Cup Initiative’s committee and participate in the charitable causes it promotes. You read it first here, and now we’re giving you an all-access pass to how the first Victory Cup Initiative event unfolded.
Victory Cup Initiative’s introduction to Central Florida could not have been more successful. More than 280 guests packed the Winter Park Community Center, enjoying a delicious breakfast and a humbling ceremony, while listening and learning about the incredible causes they came for. With the strong line-up of nonprofits presenting, it was hard to cast only one vote.
Each nonprofit left the breakfast event feeling recognized and rewarded for their efforts. The third place prize was awarded to City Year Orlando, an organization that partners with school districts to arrange one-on-one support for students facing challenges in school and at home. Second place went to The Faine House with its mission to change the path of at-risk young adults through education, housing and transportation, employment, health and wellness and personal finance. Taking home first place and the $20,000 grand prize was Kids House, an advocacy center that provides specified services to prevent child abuse and aid child abuse victims and families with a safe, child-friendly environment.
Working together with the rest of the committee, Appleton created an all-encompassing branding package that included the beautiful color palette, logo, collateral, website, eblasts, brochures and stationery that would launch Victory Cup Initiative’s presence in Central Florida. The website was created as a one-page scrolling site for nonprofits, sponsors and attendees to rely on for information about the event. It is also easily customizable to set the stage for next year’s round of presenters and sponsors. In addition, our video team filmed the event for Victory Cup to use as a promotional piece for next year.
The idea of Victory Cup Initiative was conceptualized by Ashley Vann, a distinguished philanthropist who has dedicated her career to promoting the work of nonprofit organizations in Central Florida. President of Vann Strategies, a fundraising company, Vann saw the need to connect donors in our community with the nonprofits that flourish from their generosity. Alas, Victory Cup Initiative was born and will continue to unite donors and charitable organizations.
